SQL DBA

Job Responsibilities:
Performs SQL code analysis and operational integration specifications.
Provides database design, implementation, detail SQL coding and integration skills to meet the established deliverable time.
Provide technical advice on database and application software interface issues.
Provide technical analysis of existing database design and performance.
Establish and maintain database policy and standards.
Generate database schema definitions and modifications as required.
Responsible for design, installation, security and maintenance of database systems.
Implement database backup and recovery procedures for a 7X24 production architecture.
Advise, implement and maintain change control procedures for database and applications interface in both the production and development environments.
Provide recommendations for database and application software technology enhancements.
Advise applications programming on application database design issues and interfaces.
Perform database tuning analysis and implement performance enhancements.
Establish and maintain database security with focus on the relationship with applications.
Generate system performance statistics reporting for management.
Maintain database release level certification and vendor application level certification.
Participate in 7x24 on-call support rotation and expected to work during mission critical situations.
Coordinates project activities with an emphasis on quality and meeting timelines, ensuring successful implementations, which are focused on positive impact and response from both an internal and external perspective.
Uses approved methodologies, techniques, and standard best practices in order to effectively manage software for integration of code and customization, in order to minimize the resources required for migration to vendor released upgrades and patches.
Maintains awareness of project status, identifying conflicts and proactively communicating them to the appropriate individuals/department(s).
Maintain awareness of departmental budget goals.

Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or 8 years equivalent work experience.

Experience:
Must have a strong background in applications design, development and implementation with Relational Database Management Systems experience.
Experience with the Windows operating systems including both Workstation and Server versions.
Experience with MS SQL Server , ADO and ADO.NET.
Experience maintaining High Availability databases (Clustering and Mirroring)
Previous experience in performance and tuning SQL applications.
Experience in the installation and configuration of Microsoft data access technologies for the server and Workstation.
Experience with change control management and interfaces for database and application migrations.
Exposure to best standard practices for database applications, vmWare virtualization and Windows administration in mission critical systems.
Strong working knowledge of remote data transfer applications and components.
Strong working knowledge with DTS and SSIS.
