Microwave Engineer -Design/Transport Network/TEMS Linkplanner/Pathloss 4.0/IP Planning/Switching

Scope of Work:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in designing transport networks with point-to-point microwave, point-to-mulitpoint microwave for access backhaul design using different topologies.
  • Must be able to use Ericsson TEMS linkplanner or PathLoss 4.0 or Ellipse tool operating experience.
  • Knowledge of topology design. Link and network reliability. Diverse and alternative routing. Path Design including 99.999% propagation availability and end-to-end network availability using terrain and clutter data. Capacity planning. Frequency planning and interference analysis. OAM network design (IP planning).
  • Crane and Vigants/Barnett fading algorithms. Experience with a MW network design tool. Pathloss, TEMS Linkplanner, MapInfo. Experience with Ericsson Minilink and Harris MW radios Generate Bill-of-Materials.
  • Solid understanding of IP transport for WCDMA. The engineers will be responsible for planning and directing Line-of-Sight surveys and adjust network design daily based on LOS feedback.
  • Ability to work independently, evaluate customer requirements and provide solutions. Ability to lead teams to perform the required tasks.
  • Professional attitude, excellent written and verbal skills, good planning and organizational skills and be able to produce deliverable documentation. Must be able to know and understand frequency coordination and FCC licensing process. Capable of performing site surveys on as needed basis per project requirements.

Candidates should also have the following:

  • Switching fundamentals
  • Address learning, Forward/Filter decisions, Loop avoidance Ethernet family standards Spanning tree protocol and Loop avoidance Protocols Ethernet Switching Protection mechanisms VLAN concept,
  • Trunking and trunking protocols, LAG and LACP QoS in Ethernet Carrier Ethernet
  • "Q n Q", provider's bridge Ethernet switch configuration and troubleshooting Router configuration Access Control Lists
  • concept, types and configuration WAN protocols and configuration IP Addressing, IPv4 sub-netting QoS mechanisms at IP level Preferably with experience in fiber/microwave layer 1 design and CCNA/CCNP certification
