The Role:

Finance Change Management is responsible for providing expert business analysis in support of designated initiatives in relation to the Finance Operating Model and systems change improvements.

Specific responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst role include:

Key responsibilities include:
*Focus on Regulatory projects, both mandatory or discretionary
*Gaining an understanding of business drivers and applying appropriate challenge to stated requirements
*Research and analysis of issues within the scope of designated assignments
*Identification and development of options to address issues
*Communication of issues and solutions with stakeholders and subject matter experts
*Selection and recommendation of preferred solution options and facilitation of key decisions
*Ensuring comprehensive and timely submission of project input required from other areas
*Input to test planning, preparation, documentation and execution with evaluation of test results
*Provision of advice on projects and systems to interested parties
*Input to the development of project plans to include tasks, milestones, dependencies, resources and assumptions on behalf of Project community
*Provision of training to relevant staff where new business processes are being implemented
*Deputising for the Project Manager throughout the life of the assignment
*Business analysis deliverables achieved and managed to time, cost and specification. Specific objectives will be included in the project plan and advised by the Project Manager
*Required project governance processes met
*Documentation of analysis, options, recommendations, key decisions, risks and issues as agreed with the Project Manager
*Test planning, preparation and execution
*Effective liaison with relevant Business and Technology areas to ensure accurate and appropriate analysis
*Effective verbal and written communication with key stakeholders at all levels
*Facilitation of workshops as required
*Delivery of process mapping in support of project objectives eg current & target process flows

Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
*Working knowledge of Basel 2 methodologies, preferably the Advanced basis.
*Credit Risk experience
*Business analysis experience
*Demonstrable knowledge of project life cycles
*Excellent interpersonal skills, including highly effective written and verbal communication
*Experience of tactical and strategic systems design and implementation
*Ability to work with limited supervision, using own initiative and providing leadership when needed
*Experience in a BA capacity on Finance Operating Model and/or Finance Systems projects
*Process mapping and re-engineering experience
*A thorough understanding of the end-to-end Finance Operating Model including Financial Control, statutory, regulatory and MI reporting requirements
*Experience of shared service operating models
*Accountancy background with Graduate or Accountancy Qualification desirable
*Process mapping
*Business requirements gathering and documentation
*Project life cycle, including formal project methodologies
*Familiarity with accounting/business systems design principles
*Business and financial analysis skills
*Good knowledge of banking products and terminology
*Ability to understand the budgetary impacts of work within the workstream and broader project

Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
*User Acceptance Testing - plans, Scripting, execution experience
*Six sigma and Lean techniques
*Experience of the following while not essential would be beneficial on some projects:
- Risk management experience, in particular, credit risk
- Experience of working with risk systems, in particular, in a change environment
- Knowledge of Basel II methodologies

Personal Attributes:
*Confident manner when dealing with all levels of management
*Ability to manage contributions from stakeholders and subject matter experts
