Our Irving area client is seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer Automation Architect.  This position will reside at the corporate office in Irving, Texas.

The Senior Software Quality Engineer - Automation Architect will be responsible for designing automated test solutions and harnesses/frameworks for testing business application software.  The role will help shape the future of the test automation infrastructure for our client by developing, monitoring, and improving processes, standards, test automation frameworks, and guiding local and potentially offshore testing resources. The Senior Software Quality Engineer - Automation Architect will conduct design/code reviews, develop scripts, design test rigs, and perform other basic quality engineering activities as required. Expert understanding of Object Oriented programming concepts, test automation of various application interfaces, software development life cycle, quality engineering, Embedded systems and networking communication is critical to success. Effective communication, collaboration, and team work are also essential for success.

Our client is one of the largest suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry in North America. Their companies produce a broad range of building materials, including cement, aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, concrete pipes, pavers, tiles and clay bricks. Part of the global market leader in aggregates and a prominent player in cement, concrete and other downstream activities, they employ some 53,000 people at 2,600 locations in around 40 countries.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS

  • Architect and drive the implementation of the automated testing platform for validating various business applications including JWS Apex, COMMANDseries, JD Edwards, Oracle E-business, Kronos, OnBase, etc.
  • Guide onshore and/or offshore resources on the automated testing development.
  • Define coding standards and test automation guidelines and ensure their implementation.
  • Builds test automation frameworks, reusable modules, and test tools.
  • Defines, develops, execute, review, and maintains manual and automated test scripts.
  • Decompose requirements and develop test automation for projects of simple to high complexity.
  • Develop automated solution implementation plans with defined milestones, timelines, and ROI calculation.
  • Work with development, Business, QA, and other Automation engineers to determine root cause of batch job execution problems while automating test cases.
  • Provide design documentation; participate in technical review for the test automation projects.
  • Provide metrics and project planning updates for the testing effort.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Quality Engineering with emphasis on Test Automation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Scripting languages such as VBScript.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience hands on in HP Quality Center and QTP/UFT.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with PL.SQL and Oracle, in design and development of applications.
