Senior Desktop Support - 12 month contract- New Hill, NC (Raleigh)
This position is responsible for providing Business Computing Systems support.
Position responsibilities:
(1) Identification and resolution of computer hardware and software problems for business computing.
(2) Good communication skills both written and verbal.
(3) Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues with peers and customers.
(4) Ensure software is installed and tested in accordance Quality Assurance Program.
(5) Strong customer support skills. Duties and Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Familiarization with Microsoft office products with computer skills in Windows Operating Systems and experience with Cisco network infrastructure.
- The candidate should be familiar with Windows, Unix, and have the ability to troubleshoot various types of software issues.
- Candidates must be able to obtain unescorted access at the Nuclear Plants, and demonstrate the ability to work in Radiation Controlled and Vital plant areas.
- Ability to be on-call and provide support to the plant as needed to meet plant requirements for routine operation, planned refuel outages, and unplanned maintenance outages.
- 4 year degree in a Computer Engineering or Computer Science discipline (or four years relevant experience).
Description Summary:
Work in a challenging and changing environment, supporting information technology for the Nuclear Business Unit. This position is responsible for implementing, supporting and managing business computing technologies at a nuclear plant location. Specifically, the incumbent will provide desktop support both hardware and software support as well as network support.
