My client is looking a Mainframe Technical Project Management role where the successful candidate will have Mainframe Infrastructure (as opposed to Mainframe Application) experience coupled with excellent Project Management experience/skills. We are one of two main suppliers who deal with the client and we offer the best rates to the client and can give you the best market rate for Ireland.

Job Description:

This is a Mainframe Technology Project delivery management role responsible for a significant architectural restructure of Mainframe Systems in a financial institution.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will have a primary responsibility for performing all project manager tasks to ensure the smooth transition from the existing Mainframe Architecture to a newly defined architecture. The individual will report to the Mainframe Systems Manager and will be the primary point of contact for all project related matters.

The individual will develop a detailed technical plan with input from all stakeholders and 3rd party suppliers and establish appropriate oversight, tracking and governance to ensure the seamless delivery.

The individual will co-ordinated the development of detailed specifications for alignment of all infrastructure to the target architecture.

The individual will engage with IT specialists in a cross section of technology teams and disciplines, including IT Architecture, Security, Mainframe Operating/Transaction/Database Systems, Storage Systems, Networks, Data Centre Management, Cost Management and Datacentre Management.

The individual will work with the organisation's IT Service Delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition.

This individual is expected to understand and delivery best project management practices, including risk management, governance, cost management and project administration.

  • Minimum 3 years, working in an infrastructure Project Management role.
  • Ideally possess 5 years + experience of working in complex Mainframe environments.
  • Minimum 10 years + experience working in IT.
