The Market Research contractor will lead the onsite market research function in developing and executing marketing research plans and strategies for Mezavat within the GI Business Unit. This includes executing primary and secondary research to develop actionable customer insights.

Key competencies include leadership and management, excellent analytical skills, communicating key business updates for marketing research to GI BU and local Marketing/Sales teams, and overseeing landscape assessment, positioning, communication/message research and post-launch tracking across customer channels. Responsible for managing the integration of primary and secondary results into insights. Responsible for identifying key drivers and barriers for input to forecast models.
He/she will conduct market research by designing, conducting and implementing market research studies to communicate recommendations and implications. He/she will oversee the delivery of objective, independent, and value driven insights gained from market research.

Responsibilities will include: management and hands on application of methodological skills for market research function; manage market research plan and budget; prepare and review reports and presentation for internal audiences for all levels; identify potential market research data sources and suppliers based on past experiences and insight into specific issues; conduct research projects.

Internal and External Business Partners include:
Internal: Product General Managers, and Product Directors/Product Managers; Medical Affairs; Global Marketing; Forecasting & Business Analysis; Competitive Intelligence, International Commercial Operations, International Specialty Pharmaceuticals, Local Operating Company personnel
External: Market Research vendors (primary and secondary sources), various consultants, and key professional organizations

Requirements:
Individual must draw upon a broad knowledge of industry, suppliers, consultants, data sources and experts. 5+ years of business experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or BioTech industry with substantial experience in market research and analysis (extensive knowledge of primary and secondary research methodologies and Pharma industry databases). Additional industry experience in product development, marketing and sales considered a plus.

Required competencies include creativity, teamwork, leadership, vision, and communication skills. Individual must work effectively with teams to identify the strategic issues, access the appropriate data sources and guide the development plans in diverse and dynamic markets.
BS/BA Required; a MBA is plus
