Description
An IT Infrastructure Analyst is required by a leading financial services company to be the primary IT systems & network Infrastructure lead for a regional long-term IT programme spanning across the Middle East and African region.
You will be required to:
. Programme Provide dedicated expertise, consultancy and support for the infrastructure design of applications and application platforms including - hardware, server, network and database components required to support a core infrastructure replacement programme.
. Work closely with the application architects to understand the integration between the components of the different applications in the defined target landscape and lead the design and implementation of the target infrastructure to support the same.
. Lead and help devise guidelines, standards and implementation for all the environments (development, SIT, UAT, Pre-production, Production) for the core infrastructure replacement programme architecture (LAN, WAN, Hardware, etc)
. Plan and lead deployment of new infrastructure and systems; manage/advice on their advancement in alignment with IT Operations Manager. This will also include a responsibility for the development, documentation and implementation of technical requirements specifications to support the procurement of required IT assets in relation to the programme.
. To lead the design, implementation, review and refinement of a monitoring framework and to gather metrics and alerts on Infrastructure based systems within the delivered IT environment. In particular, to ensure that these systems are optimized and available to users during planned working periods.
. To plan the maintenance of IT infrastructure systems and to install new releases of hardware, software and systems during planned periods of downtime, in line with the different milestone releases of the programme.
. Ensure compliance with Group IT architecture & Security standards, governance and controls.
. Ensure IT Security policies and procedures are adhered to at all times - escalate to IT Operations Manager and/or Security Officer as required.
. Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention from vendors.
. Establish and maintain good working relationship with the Programme Director and the project team - provide expert help and timely advice as required on systems and network infrastructure.
. Conscientious participation and personal input to promote a constructive culture in the work place, including mentoring of junior colleagues, as necessary.
. Stay current with system information, changes and updates
You will be possess the following skills, knowledge and experience;
. A Bachelor's Degree (preferably in IT or MIS) with industry related IT certifications.
. 5+ years of work experience in a senior Infrastructure role in IT consulting or related business/industry.
. Knowledge of IT Operational projects is essential.
. Experience in an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or ITIL project involvement is a plus.
. Excellent technical knowledge of Windows and.nix OS with appropriate qualifications.
. Comprehensive knowledge of LAN, WAN and other communications based equipment.
. Excellent technical knowledge of infrastructure deployments around enterprise databases (Oracle, MS SQL) and the Citrix environment.
