My client is a Major Investment Bank that is looking for a Market Risk Business Analyst to join their team for an initial 6 month renewable contract.
Duties:
The position will entail interacting with business representatives within the Risk area, IT delivery team and other vendor teams to deliver a series of IT projects to clients. Interaction with senior stakeholders is also a regular occurrence so a confident communicator is essential in this role.
The Technical Business Analyst will be required to lead analysis, design and testing activities to enhance Market Risk platforms. The key objective of this role is to bridge the gap between the client's requirements and the offshore technical delivery team and help to successfully deliver projects within this diverse and challenging space.
The Business Analyst will be required to manage the following aspects of the project life cycle:
- Project Initiation (facilitation in the preparation of Project Charter)
- Business Analysis (requirements gathering and documentation)
- Functional Design (preparation and documentation of Requirements Specifications, including use cases)
- Technical Design (facilitation in the preparation and review of Technical Specifications)
- Test planning, preparation and execution (facilitation in the preparation of system integration test plans, test cases and test progress reporting)
- Issue analysis and resolution
*Work under the Market Risk project process covering all business aspects of the process from requirements gathering through implementation.
*Be responsible for the relationship with business users and off shore delivery teams.
*Be responsible for requirement gathering and business analysis
*Produce functional requirements specification documents using formal modelling methodologies (use cases, process flow diagrams, etc.)
* Ensure that specific project deliverables are produced on time in accordance with the project plan and make sure that all relevant parties are informed of progress.
*Maintain a quality control process and ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards.
*Manage the execution of policy statements and all standards derived from them.
*Manage risks and issues for a project's successful outcome.
* Report project progress at regular intervals to senior management and produce key documentation for distribution.
*Together with the Technical Analyst perform a detailed low level evaluation of development effort estimates that are provided by development teams.
Enhance/improve the delivery process of Market Risk projects.
*Strong analytical skills gained via substantial experience as a Technical Business Analyst within an Investment Banking domain
*Experience of Market Risk, Front Office Risk or similar area is a core requirement
*Experience of working within a full project life cycle from initiation through to implementation, experience of working with a project management methodology would be an advantage
*Experience of liaison with other departments (ie Business units, Infrastructure teams, Audit) across multiple countries
*Experience in working with remote client and vendor resources
*Experience in identifying and documenting client technical needs, internal structures, procedures, workflows and systems
*Vendor management experience
