Job Description: IT procurement Manager

This position is responsible for contract management, strategic sourcing/procurement (under the guidance of the Manager, IT Procurement) of services and software to address the business requirements. Much of this work will be team driven across multiple business functions. The key objective of this position is to develop, implement and effectively manage relevant supply bases to minimize cost while ensuring required service quality and supplier performance.

In this role, the Sr. Buyer will have an influence on the selection of the suppliers and will interact with all levels of management both internal and external. Key activities and responsibilities for this position include establishing, coordinating and negotiating various types of contracts with a focus on understanding and being able to document the business requirements and commercial terms while maintaining a high degree of customer (business unit) satisfaction, driving continuous improvement and delivering best total value and inspiring a profitable culture.

The Sr. Buyer must be resourceful in driving the procurement process with the business including identifying business requirements, coordinating the contracting process and in general being a catalyst to complete tasks with a high sense of urgency. The Buyer should have an understanding of the general trends and application of eCommerce and remain current on marketplace and industry trends.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage the execution of initiatives (across functions) as directed by Manager, IT Procurement, including data gathering and analysis, business requirement development, supplier qualification, preparation of Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Request for Quotation (RFQs), Invitations to Bid (ITBs), evaluation of responses, Developing a negotiation strategy and participating in supplier negotiations, and preparation of recommendations to business customers
- Creation and management of purchase orders and contracts utilizing current procurement systems.
- Independently seeks out and develops opportunities for process improvements and innovative business solutions
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding regarding service offerings, as well as emerging industry trends/product developments, that impact the company's business lines and functions
- Participates in joint meetings with clients to assist in procurement forecasting, demand management, requirements development and identification of possible purchasing channels and sources
- Negotiates with suppliers on areas of spend and/or changes to existing orders that assures the price reflects the best total value, inspiring a profitable culture
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with business customers
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers to maximize their value
- Ensures detailed documentation is developed, approved, and retained as required by Procurement to provide an audit trail of the decisions made and methods used to award business to suppliers
- Achieves and reports savings and seeks opportunities to manage off-contract spend

- Knowledge of contract fundamentals with the ability to contractually document business requirements and commercial terms
- Effectively interact and contribute with legal counsel
- Ability to quickly gather and analyze data, and grasp customer requirements under time constraints in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment; solid interpersonal skills and ability to effectively represent the Procurement function internally and externally.
- Excellent quantitative skills and technical aptitude: fluency in MS Excel, Word mandatory; Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project fluency a major plus.
- Superior written and oral communications skills, including ability to develop and deliver effective presentations two levels up.
- High motivation, positive, can-do attitude, requiring little or minimal supervision.
- 2-5 Years in management of procurement/strategic sourcing services role.
- Proven organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated accomplishments in negotiations and complex sourcing transactions.
