DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS
The tasks to be performed cover the complete life cycle of an information system analysis, construction, and maintenance.
Under EEAS Information System Section Project Leader supervision, and in close relation with the business unit owner of the future information system, the service provider will assume and/or assist in delivering the following tasks:
- Analyze user requirements, translate them into system functionalities and model new information system
- Produce use case models; design and analysis models (including UML diagrams, etc.), implementation
- Perform technical analysis and produce technical documentation both for application and database layers, data analysis, data modelling
- Write/maintain applications that reflect the specifications
- Prototyping
- Assistance with training the administrators and users of the system.
- Assist with evaluating and testing artifacts delivered to ensure that they conform to the users' requirements and methodology in force.
- Elaborate testing scripts and programs
- Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system
- Participate in meetings with the internal and external services/partners
- Participate to missions in EU Delegations premises
WORKING ENVIRONMENT, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
The tasks to be performed, EEAS IT Division working environment, and its development projects' life cycle require the following knowledge and skills:
- In-depth knowledge and a proven professional experience with ColdFusion development environment under frameworks like FuseBox
- Good knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications
- Good knowledge of relational database systems and SQL language
- Good knowledge of software development methodologies (eg RUP, Agile, SCRUM)
- Good knowledge of modelling tools (eg UML)
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments
- Strong capacities to work (speaking/writing) in English for all project artifacts and meetings;
- Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication in French and English
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, self motivated and experience in team working.
- Good knowledge of development life cycle management tools (eg Rational Team
- Concert) and user requirements management tool (eg Rational RequesitePro) in use at EEAS IT Division are assets.
All information system projects managed by EEAS IT Division make full use of the Rational Unified Process methodology as well as Rational Team Concert, Rational Software analyzer, Rational Functional & Performance Tester, Rational Quality Manager and RequisitePro tools.
