Our Dallas Client is seeking a Solutions Architect (Voice - IP Network Design).

As a solutions architect, your daily work would require combining design skills and business knowledge with strong technical expertise.

Your responsibilities might include the following:

  • Work closely with business management to determine business process and productivity needs and an appropriate technology strategy to support business goals
  • Analyze tech needs, requirements, & state of the network's infrastructure design, integration, & operations
  • Work with tech mgmt to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
  • Create design principles, models, plans, internal standards, budgets, & processes using best practices.
  • Establish governing principles for technology solutions design and deployment.
  • Participate in selection of System, Database, Storage, Telecommunications, and networking technologies, vendors, and products for implementation
  • Lead teams of other network designers and engineers in developing detailed designs and quality-control mechanisms during implementation.
  • Communicate the role and value of the network to the organization and present the business case for technology investments.
  • Continually update understanding of business and technology status and objectives and respond to strategic design requests as the business evolves.
  • Support sales endeavors, including acting as SME for sales engineering and interact with customer on pre-sales engagements.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Load Balancing including hardware appliances and software load balancing such as NLB and SLB
  • Understanding of collocation requirements, wiring needs, cooling, and power distribution
  • Cloud services and High availability design knowledge and skills
  • Understand corporate and service provider security directives and goals
  • Understand the differences between a service provider and an enterprise based architecture
  • Experience with tier one vendors like: Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell, Acme packet, F5, Microsoft, RedHat, etc
  • Consulting Background - Candidates must haveService Provider (MSP) experience in a large scale consulting environment, NOT Enterprise IT, LAN/WAN environment.
  • Business Acumen Creating efficiencies. Experience supporting the Business, Sales & Engineering. Vendor Management/Relations

Strong documentation and written communication skills

DC Power & Cooling Design

Server & Data Center Experience

Distributed Architecture
Active Directory

Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
