Job Description: IT Global Operations Center Support Manager

Main roles of Global Operations Center are:

To ensure maximum service availability and performance .

To ensure committed business services availability and performance through effective Monitoring, Event Management and Incident Management.

To provide Support Services to various teams within IT Organization.

These result in diverse range of duties for Support Engineers. GOC staff will monitor, maintain and remediate critical business services, applications and IT Infrastructure including Servers, Networks, Storage and VMware infrastructure. GOC staff will be working very closely with IT Service Desk and various Technical Management teams in delivering the services. As such, GOC staff is expected to have all-round understanding of systems, networks and applications. Attention to details, ability to multi-task and work prioritization is also key skills in this environment. This team will provide 24/7 support.

Duties and Responsibilities

75% Hands on/25% Management.

Monitor, maintain and remediate Server Infrastructure, Vmware infrastructure, SAN Storage, Active Directory, Exchange etc.

Event management Interpret alerts received via monitoring tools, troubleshoot and take necessary remedial actions.

Incident Management Resolve incidents; escalate to other IT teams and vendors. Co-ordinate incidents to resolution.

Problem Management Identify problems proactively and provide inputs to Problem Management for problem resolution.

Batch Operations Monitoring batch jobs like backup, restore, data load etc.

Reporting Generate various technical and management reports using reporting capabilities of monitoring tools.

Continuous interaction with IT Service desk and technical Management teams during major incidents.

Experience and skills -

Engineering Graduate with 5 to 8 years of experience in Operations Center/Network Operations Center environment.

Hands-on experience supporting SQL, Oracle Database Servers, and IIS Web Applications Servers.

Hands-on experience in supporting at least one multi-tier Enterprise Applications Siebel, SAP, Oracle CRM, Oracle Business intelligence in Linux and MS Windows environments.

Strong knowledge of each tier of applications Application, Middleware, Database. Experience in Oracle technologies is must.

Strong troubleshooting skills of multi-tier applications.

Experience in supporting multi-tier E-commerce Web applications.

Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, especially event management, incident management. ITIL v3 Foundation certification would be plus.

Operational experience in any Enterprise Monitoring tool like BMC Patrol, HP BAC etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.perience in working in 24/7 support environment.

Ability to multi-task, tasks prioritization.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
