Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of cable and telecom services, is seeking an Systems Administrator for its Charlotte, NC location!  Duties include:Essential Job Functions:
 Remediate backup issues on a daily basis. Use of tools such as APTARE is essential to identifying and tracking backup problems. Activity and status reports should be generated daily and forwarded to management. Measures of success include the ability to resolve and report backup issues in a timely manner as well as to identify reoccurring problems or trends to Problem Management.
Remediate monitoring and reporting issues on a daily basis. Use of tools such as SiteScope, IBM Director, Change Auditor, and HPOpenView are essential for identifying and tracking backup problems. Activity and status reports should be generated daily and forwarded to management. Measures of success include the ability to resolve and report backup issues in a timely manner as well as to identify reoccurring problems or trends to Problem Management.
Provide Tier II and III support services to the team. Duties include processing or troubleshooting Remedy tickets as assigned. Measures of success include the ability to resolve assigned tickets in a timely manner as well as be viewed positively by our customers as courteous and helpful.
Perform other duties as required by management.

Required Skills:
-Understanding of Windows 2003, Windows 2008, and VMware operating systems and their tuning and configuration, including their automated installation and extended configuration
-Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, and kerberos ticketing and their installation and extended configuration
-Understanding of Microsoft Clustering, MS-SQL, IIS, and DHCP services
-Understanding of Storage Area Network principles
-Understanding of the architecture of large server backup systems
-Familiarity with the tasks involved in the day-to-day operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of large scale datacenter server services.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
-300 to 400 level understanding of Server Class Hardware.
-300 to 400 level understanding of Windows 2003 Operating System.
-300 to 400 level understanding of Windows 2008 Operating System.
-300 to 400 level understanding of Windows Active Directory.
-MCSE 2003. 
-MCITP 2008.
Desired Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university.
