Description
This Dallas-based industry leader has an immediate 18+ month contract opening for a Senior Data Network Engineer. Will provide unparalleled customer service while responding to environment problems and implement resolution efforts across technology areas. Will be required to participate in a weekly on-call rotation of 5 engineers and will be expected to troubleshoot voice-related issues as necessary using available tools such as packet analyzers and Router diagnostics. The position involves some travel (approx.10-15 times per year on average, depending on the specific project). Will be responsible for working projects as assigned by the Network Engineering Manager that will range from complex (large-scale infrastructure) to simple (host to switch connections). Will design, implement, and provide second-level support for the Firewall network and host load-balancing solutions. Will manage the IP Addressing and DNS, and assist project teams/business Customers to evaluate, develop, implement and support network architecture components.
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree (preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications).
5+ years of work experience in Systems Engineering Networking to include evaluating, developing, customizing, installing, implementing and maintaining data network systems according to Customer/system requirements.
5+ years of experience working with Firewalls, especially Juniper and Cisco (various models).
5+ years of experience working with Cisco Routers, Switches (NX-OS and IOS), F5 LTM & Cisco CSS Load Balancers, and other networking gear.
5+ years of experience working with Cisco VoIP systems, to include QoS/CoS configurations.
Demonstrated success in installing, customizing, developing, implementing and maintaining network systems developed internally and/or in conjunction with outside vendors.
Experience designing cost effective network solutions that support business needs.
Experience designing, implementing, and providing second level support for the WAN, routed network and LAN at all corporate facilities.
Must have strong skills working with Word, Excel, Visio, etc.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of UNIX, Windows, and other operating systems.
Any Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, etc.
