VMware Consultant - English Speaking Project - Stavanger, Norway.
Multi-national giant urgently requires an experienced VMware Consultant to join a large programme of work located in Stavanger, Norway.
Assignment description:
Windows Server has today 275 esx hosts, 1829 virtual Servers and 1139 data stores and is still growing. Virtualization has become an important part of the infrastructure and the trend is increasing in both quantity and the variety of solutions.
We need a consultant hat can help us with the following tasks:
- Do health checks
- Monitor ESX hosts (not responding, memory, cpu usage, datastore usage)
- Old Snapshots
- vMotion/drs
- Coordinate and execute activities with customers and our internal vendors (network, datastorage and server H/W)
- Implement new clusters
- Add extra hosts
- Add extra datastores
- Handle nonstandard deliveries
- Upgrade/patching of hosts
- Manage 3rd Party solutions (HP SIM, Powerpath)
- Reorganise storage
- Troubleshoot
- Networking issues (new and existing environments)
- Host freezes
- Have in depth understanding of server hardware, networking and datastorage and how we use these building blocks to create a virtual environment.
- Hold temporary system responsible role during vacations etc.
This is an English speaking VMware role with any Scandinavian language skills a bonus but not a necessity (Norwegian/Swedish/Danish).
