Overall job purpose
To provide support and further the development for my clients Unix systems and related services.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
To provide a high level of support and strategic advice and for the HPUX Unix and RedHat Servers.
To provide support for the NetApp Filer and Tivoli TSM Storage Manager services.
To support applications within the Unix environment such as Oracle, Jboss, Apache, Sendmail, OpenLDAP, Kerberos and BIND.
Support other IT groups to deliver projects to meet the IT departments objectives
Production and maintenance of user documentation to ensure that the Unix platforms can be appropriately supported
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Strong HPUX hardware and systems knowledge comprising a minimum of five years HPUX experience.
A good working knowledge for building, deploying, patching and configuration of HPUX and RedHat operating systems and applications.
Good knowledge & experience with SAN and NAS technologies, with NetApp Filers preferably. Experience with related snapshot and backup technologies.
Familiarity with Oracle, Tivoli TSM and Vmware
Should be familiar with the tools and methods used for performance analysis and fault tracing for all related Unix systems and services
Experience with writing and maintaining Unix Shell Scripts
Experience with security issues and enhancements for systems and applications

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Experience in communicating effectively with various levels of management and personnel
