Description
Senior UNIX Engineer - Our client are looking for a Senior UNIX Engineer for a long term contract in Brussels. You will be responsible for installation, configuration, monitoring, setting up acceptance environment for business users enabling them to perform E2E acceptance tests. You will also set up performance test environments for ICT Testers to perform load, stress and stability tests. As Senior UNIX Engineer you will also advice the operational readiness of the launch of the application in the production environment according to company standards. You will provide second level support according to ITIL procedures.
Further responsibilities for the Senior UNIX Engineer will be acting as point of contact for Project Managers, test and release coordinators, trainers, first line support, suppliers, operational support and DBAs. You will also participate in problem, release, change and configuration management and will document cross team coordination to prepare implementation and test plan within an agreed window.
Senior UNIX Engineer skills required:
- Strong Linux and UNIX OS experience
- TCP/IP experience
- Shell Scripting including bash
- JBoss/other JEE Application Server
- Apache, XML, XSL, DB (Oracle, SQL)
- Python, Perl, Java, C, C++, MS SQL, Scheduler, MQ Series, web services (advantageous)
- ENGLISH, FRENCH AND DUTCH SPEAKING!
- Planned, organized, strong team spirit, happy to work outside business hours for planned changes
- Participate in duty support, Perl Notions, Java Notions
