PROJECT
The project will be transitioning from the original platform of ECC5 to a new owned and operated SAP ECC6 solution and associated components. A fully owned and managed SAP solution would give the department the tools to improve functionality and flexibility, implement and integrated strategic reporting solution, manage the data within the department's data management framework and provide improved corporate governance to allow the department's CEO to fulfil the accountabilities under the shared services framework.
Position Summary
- The project requires the services of an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to liaise between the departments
- IT branch and an external provider for the DET BI and ERP Program.
- You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Liaise with our service provider and IT branch to support the implantation of SAP products including
- ERP, BW/BI, PI, SRM, BPC, Portal and Solution Manager
- Assist with SAP workload analysis and performance tuning
- Assist with the setup of Transport system administration and transports promotion
- Assist in the SAP clients set up - client copy, system copy etc.
- Analyse and assist with the SAP system maintenance - Support Packages, SPAU conflicts resolution,
- MSSQL patch-set, OSS Notes implementation, Portal patches and SAP Kernel patches
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated SAP Basis installation and maintenance experience
- Proven experience providing technical support for SAP Basis modules in relation to installation,
- customisation and management of SAP Basis System Software and related third party products
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Develop and recommend options and implement solutions to enhance business performance and
- reform business processes
- 5 years plus SAP Basis experience
- Minimum of 2 full life cycle implementations
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- SAP ERP 6 experience would be highly regarded
- SAP Basis Certification would be highly regarded
- Experience working in government environment with Prince2 methodology
- Experience with SAP products including ERP6, BW/BI, SRM, BPC, Portal and Solution Manager
