Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of healthcare data consulting services, is seeking a Software Developer for its Ann Arbor, MI location.  The Software Developer applies strong software programming skills to create, modify and enhance data processing and analysis software.  The position requires a fundamental grasp of both; software programming methods, processes and tools- the software development cycle; and analysis and processing of large data.  Duties include: Employee will be responsible for developing data manipulation methods in STATA and SQL to create new, and to extend and fix existing data analysis and processing methods for Action Suite.  Additionally they'll create as necessary C/C++ plug-ins to extend STATA capabilities, Windows and UNIX executables and other batch/Shell Scripts to complete the Action Suite Solution. Finally, they will collaborate with UI developers to integrate UI (Front End) and data manipulation (Back End processing/analysis/reporting) software.  Employee is expected to develop through documentation of work, including design documents and technical specifications.

Required Skills:
-3-5 years Object Oriented or Procedural Programming with any of the following C/C++, Java, C#, Perl.
-2+ years SQL query development, and experience with of one or more of the following DBMS Systems is a must: MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle.
-Data programming in STATA/SAS/R or some other data processing and analysis software is a must.
-Experience with Windows Server development, including basic Windows Server setup.
-Experience with the full systems development life cycle.
-Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
-Bachelor 's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Desired Skills:
-Unix development is strongly desirable.
-Strong written and verbal communication desirable.
-Experience with CVS, Bugzilla and Rally recommended.
-Excellent math/statistics skills a plus.
-Healthcare administrative data knowledge a plus.
