Chemist
Must have degree in Chemistry and live within a 50 mile radius of Southfield, MI to apply for this position. Please do not apply if you are not a resident the Southfield region.
o Perform chemical testing on the samples of paint produced
o Use formulas to prepare and mix samples of waterborne and solvent borne automotive paints
o Prepare and spray panels with Primer, Base, Clear Coats paint samples
o flash and bake panels in ovens
o Record all results in database and create spreadsheets
o Conduct inventory on raw materials
o Perform physical and appearance testing on panels, such as:Water Soak, QCT, gas immersion, Adhesion Testing, Tukon, Gravelometer Testing,High Performance Chipping and so forth as defines in customer specifications
Experience 1 to 3 years is preferred but not mandatory.
Ideal candidate will have prior lab experience (industry or university lab) and some college experience. AS or BS Degree in a science is a plus (chemistry and biology preferred)
Associates with some combination of the following experience are typically the best candidates:
1) Lab Experience Preferred
2) Organized, neat record keeping, ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
3) Paint Lab and Paint Testing Experience is a plus
4) Experience with Automotive OEM material specifications is a plus
