This nationwide industry leader has an immediate 6 month contract-to-hire opening in Dallas for a Web Systems Administrator. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree, 3+ years Solaris UNIX Systems Administration experience, and experience with Sun iPlanet Web Server. Requires experience with RedHat Linux and Windows. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to multi-task. Strongly prefer experience with Microsoft IIS, WebSphere, Oracle, Windows Powershell, VMware ESX, Xiotech SAN, and EVault Backup & Recovery Technologies. Prefer SCSA and/or SCSE certification. Cisco network design and implementation experience is a plus.
This Web Systems Administrator will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the application level, operating system and server level of the Unix and Microsoft 24 X 7 web environment. This is performed in partnership with a third-party service provider. Responsibilities include analysing, developing, supporting and maintaining Internet, Intranet, and Extranet solutions utilizing knowledge of and skills associated with application and database server and operating system technologies. Will utilize knowledge of and skills associated with industry standard development methods and technologies, working with minimal direct supervision as a member of the Web Operations team. Will manage day to day operations of the ATG/Java and Microsoft web, application, and database server environments at lower ATG application, Unix (Solaris), RedHat6 or MS operating systems and hardware levels. Will partner with outsourced data center to respond to operating and support issues on a 24 by 7 basis. Will design, write, and debug Unix (Solaris) and MS SQL scripts. Will provide debugging, testing, and technical support for existing Web solutions utilizing web server and operating system technologies. Will monitor all system vitals and reporting including capacity levels and system availability. Will be responsible for ensuring system upgrades and maintaining server patch levels. Will provide technical expertise and consultation to the third party service provider and business partners. Will provide leadership and mentoring to support staff to ensure that technology solutions are delivered in a standard and high quality manner. Will assist in fulfilling the day to day support and maintenance tasks of ATG/Java Web, PHP and other environments. Will provide customer support and will be expected to be oncall during non-business hours for end users via the support ticket system.
