The System Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation and configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling customers and partners.

This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology, including definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research and development within the project life cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and deploying the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development team to production team by performing operations activities within the project life cycle.

Windows and Applications systems & support including: Microsoft, HP, Cisco, VMWare, and EMC. The SA is expected to have a broad background in the administration of: Microsoft Servers, Active Directory (AD), Storage Area Network (SAN), Fibre Channel, advanced file server permissions delegation and rights management; Group Policy; and Scripting (VBScript); VMware, virtualization analysis, and consolidation activities.

Responsibilities

Install new and rebuild existing Servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project and operational requirements.

Install and configure systems such as supports infrastructure and software products and services, Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, Contribute to and maintain system standards; Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks; Build and maintain a standard image library of all server operating systems; Manage hardware life cycles; Evaluate and recommend hardware products; Monitor operating system performance; Develop capacity planning and load management standards; Document required configuration changes; Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions; Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary; Manage Microsoft Active Directory per request.

Provide tier 3 support per request from various internal and exte; Investigate and troubleshoot issues.; Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted customers; Working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice, may be require; Responsible for supporting infrastructure and software products and services as part of emergency response team; Apply Microsoft patches and upgrades on a monthly basis.

Requirements

Bachelor degree, with a technical major, engineering or computer related field.

Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Microsoft.

Minimum 5 years system administration experience.

Applicants selected will be subject to an FBI background check.

Applicants must have a high-degree of technical knowledge related to hardware and software listed below:

- - Microsoft Windows , Microsoft Windows clustering, Microsoft Exchange , WSUS, SAN Storage, VMware, Network load balance, Windows Server, operating Systems (Windows Enterprise Server ),

  • Active Directory administration and management (manage objects and groups)
  • Group Policy Objects (GPOs) administration and management
  • Windows Server - Security standards and configuration management

- Education: Requires a BS Degree in Computer Science or Related 4 year Degree or an Associated Degree with equivalent experience.

- A PLUS: Certification: Microsoft Certified IT Professional MCITP Certification or MCSA or MCSE or CCNA Certification

- Location: Youngstown, Ohio (Northeast Ohio, Mahoning Valley) (in-house position).

- Preference: Local surrounding area candidates living within a drivable distance to Youngstown, Ohio (Northeast Ohio, Mahoning County, Mahoning Valley)
