Job Purpose:
Development of web-based GUI
SLICE User-interfaces integrated in the application.
Our client maintains a high quality database containing the genetic sequence information filed with patent applications.
The information is standardised and validated and made available for searches in cooperation with the European Bio-Informatics Institute.
Our client has developed and maintains powerful tools to allow examiners to formulate queries for genetic sequences and to visualize results.
In the framework of ITR the project SLICE is defined and its main function is to compare genetic sequences.
Soft skills
Ability to interact with others in a highly international environment, preferable proven experience in international collaboration
Very good communication skills, including the ability to write comprehensive technical documents, in English
Excellent knowledge of the English language
Ability to interact with all levels of management and technical engineers
Proven experience in agile project methodologies (Scrum).
Technical skills
The ideal candidate is expected to have the following skills and proven experience in these techniques and technologies:

The preferred candidate will have proven experience in the following domains
Java programming (including -but not limited to- JEE, Web development n-tier technologies
and testing tools like jUnit)
XSL, XPATH, XQUERY
Scripting Languages
Operating Systems:
AIX
Linux
Any of the following optional skills would also be appreciated:
familiar with enterprise desktop applications: IBM Lotus Notes and MS Office
