Our client is seeking a Virtual Systems Engineer for server and virtual infrastructure include assessing, implementing, administrating, troubleshooting, and documenting Virtual systems infrastructure environments for an exciting contract opportunity.
Job description:
You will require to identify and resolve virtualization related system problems and performance issues, require troubleshooting activities on production Servers, Administer Linux Servers running VMware ESX, Troubleshoot server and Workstation software and hardware, Support the Back Office and application Servers, Perform hardware upgrades and swaps, Interface with customer, users, and external venders as necessary, Maintain knowledge base of current technology with continuous self-study, Work with VMware Server Virtualization products, Work with Linux Server products, Work with server hardware (HP, IBM, Dell, and Sun), Utilize your working knowledge of Storage Area Networks, iSCSI, and NAS Solutions
Education/Certifications/Experience Required:
3+ years of experience in VMware and Linux production computing environments, A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience, Preferred Certifications include Linux and VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Additional Skills/Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is required upon hire must have demonstrated the ability to timely, appropriately, and effectively deal with customer issues and conflict. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain positive relationships with customers, internal and external Ability to perform other duties as assigned Set-up and install new Servers and a virtual environment.
