Accountabilities
* Leading and managing commercial aspects of offshore wind projects in UK, Baltic Sea and rest of Europe/world with focus on development (pre-construction) phase.
* Developing (with the Business) and implementing contract strategies in order to secure appropriate supply chain arrangements in both established markets and geographically new markets.
* Responsible for the tendering process, gathering technical requirements from the Business and reviewing its completeness and managing the electronic tender process in accordance with Purchasing procedures and arrangements.
* Negotiation of price related and commercial aspects of contracts to deliver the SPR/Global Offshore Business Plan objectives, involving the mitigation of commercial risk and ensuring the compatibility of technical and commercial elements; preparation and negotiation of commercial schedules and ensuring compatibility with technical schedules.
* Preparing approval papers and supporting the obtaining of authorisations for contracts.
* Providing contract advice and support to project managers during the post-contract phase of projects.
* Preparing internal reports.
* Identifying and recommending strategies to address new technologies and areas for delivering improvements in value.
* Leading, motivating and directing a team, including line management responsibilities.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Strong commercial contract, procurement and negotiation experience plus experience of assisting in conclusion of complex transactions and transaction teams.
* Strong self-performance management and delivery focus with the ability to balance conflicting requirements of quality, cost and time and make decisions in tight timescales.
* Strong team worker and leader/builder of a team.
* Good all round understanding of financial, commercial and business principles and risk mitigation practices.
* Strong influencing, interpersonal and change management skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
* Demonstrates commitment and flexibility to deliver high quality results in demanding timeframes.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Operating confidently with and influencing senior management teams/senior management level (both internal and external).
* Proven ability to persuade, challenge and build credibility at all levels and within all functions of the organisation.
* Strong computer system skills including e-tendering systems.
* Some knowledge or experience of offshore projects beneficial.
