Position Description:
Our client in Richmond, VA is seeking several Senior .NET Developers for an in-house project focused on modernization of their internal IS systems. All work will be completed on site at the client's corporate offices in Richmond, VA.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Ability to engage clients directly to explain software solutions, answer questions on features and/or development processes when needed.
* Contributing to functional and technical design, process, and use case design and reviews; ability to document and read functional and technical specifications.
* Self-management of workload and work assignments within a development team that is responsible for delivering projects/tasks through a software development life cycle, with an eye toward project timelines and utilization.
* Experience evaluating/estimating work effort, controlling scope, identifying risk and resolving conflict Issue and bug fix management.
* Helping to define and implement development best practices, standards and processes.
* Thoroughly documenting development work completed using established team standards.
* Working directly with business development teams during project envisioning/inception to come up with best solution and reasonable accurate time/cost estimates for project.
Required Technical Skills:
* Extensive experience in .NET, C#, ASP.NET, XML, Web Services (WCF) and SQL Server, Transact SQL.
* Experience in distributed systems environments.
* Application integrations in complex, web-service driven or SOA environments experience.
Preferred Technical Skills:
* Biz Talk development and integration experience is highly desirable.
* Experience in SharePoint customization.
* Solid understanding of the SharePoint Object Model and SharePoint technology stack.
* Experience implementing web-based applications using WebSphere Portal and Portlet Factory (Web Experience Factory) interfacing with web services.
* Expertise in open source and proprietary tools including JAVA and MS .Net; WebSphere Portal Server and Sharepoint 2010 implementation experience highly preferred.
SharePoint 2007 (and/or later) Technologies and SharePoint Designer 2007.
* Experience mentoring or guiding Developers and Testers on a project.
* Experience with Enterprise Content Management solutions.
* Experience working with software product development companies.
* Experience working within the AGILE methodology framework.
* Windows Forms.
* Team Foundation Server.
* SQL Server R2.
* SharePoint 2010.
* JQuery.
Required Soft Skills:
* Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
* Experience having functioned as an individual contributor or team member.
