Our Dallas Client seeks a Systems Admin II located in Orlando, Florida for a 9 month contract.
Job Description:
- Administer and support a Storage Area Network (SAN) in a Windows Environment.
- Perform storage and backup assessments, storage system design, performance analysis, capacity planning and disaster recovery planning.
- Support test, development and production systems.
- Production systems require 24/7 support.
- Develop storage allocation standards.
- Installs, configures, tests and implements storage management software and hardware.
- Candidate will also assist in providing support for 200+ Windows and Linux Servers including patching, upgrades and server software installation.
- Candidate will support or perform hardware upgrades and replacements as needed.
- Successful candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment as part of a 5 person team.
- Selected individual will be able to troubleshoot and resolved complex technical issues.
- Candidate may be expected to manage complex projects to meet the MIS department goals without direct supervision.
- Weekly reports and updated project plans to present to management will be required, as well as a immediate reporting of any issues that arise that could impact success of projects.
- Candidate will function as group representative for storage discussions to management and other internal customers.
Required Skills:
Thorough knowledge of HP SAN administration
Strong knowledge of LUN masking and storage provisioning.
At least 6 years of related experience required
Provision storage to multiple host environments.
Respond to, identify, isolate and resolve issues related to the storage environment.
Assist in the analysing, tuning and configuring of SAN storage to perform optimally.
. Knowledge of MS Windows and Linux operating systems
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of network Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and network protocols.
Working knowledge of VMware
Experience with Storage virtualization
Experience with Linux, Unix
Required Education (including Major):
B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
