Job Description:
Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a consultant to support and maintain existing Access and Excel reporting applications. Write and modify complex VBA programming logic. Modify, test, and debug complex financial reporting applications distributed across multiple files. Work with moderate direction. Take ownership to understand complex process flows, create plans, make modifications, and test/debug/document resulting changes. Utilize standard structured programming concepts and system development methodologies to create professional applications. Work within the existing system architecture and adheres to team development standards and conventions.
Requirements:
Must have highly developed skills writing and debugging complex applications using VBA code and COM, including extensive experience with Excel and Access object properties and methods.
Must be able to apply Excel financial and data-related worksheet functions both programmatically and through worksheet formulas.
Must be resourceful and able to find and utilize internal or external information required to resolve technical issues.
Must be able to quickly analyze and comprehend complex process flows that combine multiple Access/Excel files.
Must have experience designing and creating Access tables, forms, queries.
Must understand T-SQL, normalization, and other key database concepts.
Must be able to write and read SQL code. Must be very advanced SQL user, currently supporting or has supported in the past SQL
Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
Must have strong experience using ADO or DAO.
Must be able to use MS Word, Outlook, and Visio
Must have at least 3 years paid experience programming using VBA with MS Access and Excel object models.
