Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Twinsburg, OH

Duration: 30 months +

Job Description:

Data Network Engineer needed for the support of large Wide Area Network, which is built on Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS).

The position will support the migration of Enterprise Customers to the MPLS network.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

The WDN (Wireless Data Network), EDN (Engineering Data Network) and the IT (Information Technology) Networks

Configure and support IP Routers, Ethernet Switches, MPLS Switches, network capacity and project demands.

Present design input, implement hardware, and provide extensive technical support and documentation for this LAN/WAN network.

Audit network elements for alarming, configuration inconsistencies and optimization.

As internetworking issues are discovered, proactively offer guidance to Operations team to resolve these issues.

Provide 4th tier technical support to Data Operations on all networking issues.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

Bachelor's Degree required, preference in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Certifications desirable (not required): CCNA or JNCPIA. CCNP or JNCIS preferred.

Technical Skills/Experience:

Accountable and able to construct carrier grade provider networks from scratch, including designing IP subnet assignments, VLANs, routing tables, providing Layer 2 and Layer 3 end-to-end connectivity, as well as load balancing traffic across redundant facilities.

Minimum 4 years of experience in data networking and telecommunications, including working knowledge of TCP/IP (IPv4). Exposure to IPv6 routing welcomed but not required.

Minimum 3 years hands-on experience configuring Routers, Switches related network equipment. Preferably: MPLS- Cisco Carrier Routing Systems (CRS). Routers- Cisco 12K,10K,1K,

Minimum 5 years of experience in IPV4 addressing and sub-netting, OSPF, BGP, Ethernet VLANs, MPLS, DS0 through OC-48 circuits, CSU/DSUs, standard telephony/Ethernet cabling plants.

Solid understanding of Networking specific technologies: L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPFv3, MPBGP, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS (LDP & TDP), and VRFs. Operating Systems: IOS, XR-IOS, XOS.

Experience with network design, configuration and troubleshooting

Demonstrated project management skills and measurable successes (please provide examples).

Ability to articulate structured network design, the OSI Interconnect model and how it relates to the design and deployment of structured networks

Excellent PC skills on Windows, MS Office, Project, and Visio

Leadership skills:

Take action with little to no direction

Balance multiple projects in an environment with high performance expectations and day to day pressure to deliver on time, on budget and to specification.

Proactively build collaborative relationships with VZWs operating area, region and design teams that foster positive results and relationship strength over time.

Demonstrate customer sensitivity and motivate desired behaviors through timely, effective and clear oral and written communication

Travel/Other:

Occasional Overnight travel will be required but will be less than 10% of your time.

Training will be provided on an as needed basis.

Routing 5 to 7 years work experience a must: L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPFv3, MPBGP, QOS/Traffic Engineering
