Description
This is an Area of Need position based in NSW within a large community of 150000.CLINICAL DUTIES
Provide routine medical services to patients.
Provide emergency medical services for patients as necessary according to the
hospital's roster.
Consult on difficult patients when requested by a medical officer.
Manage patients in the general medical ward
Provide supervision to Resident Medical Officers and Registrars as appropriate in
relation to medical services
Receive specialist referrals for endocrinology consultations for both inpatients and
outpatients
Ensure that all required documentation is completed in an accurate and timely
manner.
Develop and maintain policies for admission, discharge and care of medical
patients, in consultation with other appropriate service deliverers.
Conduct medical ward rounds, outpatient clinics and post discharge clinics.
Develop and maintain relationships with tertiary medical institutions and facilities.
Provide such other clinical services as may be necessary and appropriate to the
speciality.
On occasions, manage cardiac patients in the Coronary Care/Intensive Care ward
and liaise with the Anaesthetist/Cardiologist as appropriate.
