DESCRIPTIONThe Oracle Developer/Data Modeler (Lead) will lead and manage the technical design through implementation phases for Market Promotion, US Migration and RFM 2 Database Improvement projects. Responsible for developing and implementing a web solution used to manage price, product, and promotion as well as configuration information for Point of Sales (POS) devices.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all the project activities, track progress of milestones and deliverables and identify and escalate risks and issues.
- Implement an approach to promote a data node (aka a country node) from an existing staging instance to a production instance that already contain other production data nodes (aka other countries).
- The data integrity of the existing markets and the data validity of the newly created market are considered as the primary success factors of staging to production promotion.
- Review requirement and recommend/propose an effective solution/approaches.
- Perform framework review and provide approval to approach selected.
- Perform Design Review and provide feedback.
- Perform Code Review in Java and Store Procedure/SQL base.
- Perform testing and sign off of the implementation.
- Be the lead to drive the implementation of the solution.
- provide a seamless and easy migration path for the US Market to adopt RFM 2 from its current application (RFM GA).
- Discuss potential approaches and identify their pros and cons.
- Provide the recommended approach and estimated effort for implementation.
- Design the recommended approach.
- Work with Supplier to determine resource requirement.
- Oversee the implementation to ensure time delivery.
- Review Design and Code deliverable for compliance.
- Lead the testing strategy with GQA and Supplier resources.
- Redesign the database schema to reduce complexity of the model such that new enhancements will not negatively impact the performance of the RFM 2 application.
- RFM 2 has a schema of over 800 tables that implements complex data relationships through highly normalized data entities and provides many data dimensions such as market hierarchies, menu item sets and component propagation, pricing hierarchies, effective dates, data inheritance, etc.
- Analyze and understand the current RFM 2 Data Model.
- Optimize the current data model to simplify the complex concepts of set layering and future effective dates.
- Optimize SQL and stored procedure performance.
- Design and implement a proof of concept to showcase the above simplified data model.
- Work with Supplier to determine approach and timing.
- Lead development team to implement the recommended changes.
- Provide guidance on all database technical issues.
- Requires the ability to understand the RFM 2 Application coupled with its complex and in depth data model analysis, database modelling and implementation capabilities.
- Ability to quickly develop a fully functional proof-of-concept.
- Must have at least ten years of data modelling experience.
- Ability to present multiple solution options for market promotion.
- Knowledge of Oracle 11G enterprise class data model implementation capabilities required.
- Ten years of SQL experience a must.
- Ability to quickly learn a business domain (ideally development experience in the retail domain).
- Must have at least ten years of experience SQL*Plus and Oracle Stored Procedure.
- Ability to simplify complex schemas.
- Over seven years of experience with highly complex and significant data transactional volumes (millions).
- Ability to quickly understand the depth of application requirements and provide database solutions.
- Transactional data extraction Scripting capabilities In Oracle 11G.
- Understanding complex data dimensions and relationships.
- Ability to quickly obtain a clear understanding of how the RFM 2 application process information.
