DESCRIPTIONThe Product Supply Statistical Forecaster will provide thought leadership and consultation to align statistical forecasting capabilities and needs to current and future business forecasting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical leadership, training and direction for established and development activities across the Business Units (BUs).
- Develop business goals and strategies to develop a roadmap that will deliver aggressive forecast accuracy goals.
- Provide cross BU/competitive perspective to strategies and plans while coordinating and prioritizing activities across the BUs.
- Act as primary liaison with Consumer Insights and Strategy, JDA, Nielsen (syndicated & KIDS) and statistical providers, as appropriate.
- Work closely with business forecasters (National Forecasting manager, location demand planners, customer demand planners) to ensure the statistical forecasts are effectively utilized and addressing business needs.
- Represent company in professional organizations and meetings.
- Ensure statistical forecasts are generating quality item/location/week forecasts aligned with agreed-upon product forecast segmentations.
- Develop, align, and implement product forecast segmentation principles across supply chain forecasting.
- Monitor forecast accuracy trends with a focus on ensuring that forecasting activities are focused on adding value.
- Coordinate and lead prioritization of statistical forecasting activities to drive maximum value to the organization.
- Provide thought leadership in developing statistical forecasting strategies to drive optimal statistical output to the process.
- Maintain frequent contact and communication with analytics resources, internally and externally (Shopper Insights, Consumer Insights, KIDS, JDA, statistical providers).
- Frequent communication with business forecasters.
- Work closely with Demand Capability team to develop clear and aligned roadmaps.
- Knowledge of industry trends, capabilities, emerging efficiencies, and individual business situations required.
- Strong statistical analyst capabilities along with strong interpersonal and influence management skills are a must.
- Must have the ability to quickly understand business needs and be capable of effective relationships and managing negotiations between teams.
