Description
Very large Fort Worth based company in a very stable industry is seeking a VMWare/Windows Systems Admin for a contract-to-hire opportunity.
This VMWare Systems Admin will perform daily VMWare related tasks such as but not limited to: VM Deployments, ESXi Host installs, joining hosts to Virtual Center, creating clusters, cluster configurations with HA and DRS, vswitch configuration, Nexus 1000V a plus, Create and manage Datastores, Perform P2V s, knowledge and ability to move VM's from cluster to cluster, VM cloning, knowledge on moving clusters and ESX hosts to different virtual center Servers, must be able to lift 50 lbs, and be able to follow change control process.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
-Strong knowledge of VMWare virtualization methodologies and underlying technologies.
-2-5 years of experience in the management, maintenance, and sustainment of VMWare and virtualized server environment.
-5+ years of Windows server experience, .
-Strong Communication Skills.
-VDI knowledge a plus.
-Strong understanding of virtualization principles.
ESXi installation, configuration, and support on ESXi 4.0 and 4.1 5.0 a plus.
-Virtual machine creation, cloning, and configuration.
-Cluster configuration.
-Virtual Center usage.
-VMWare Update Manager.
-P2V techniques and tools.
-ESXi command line interface.
-SAN storage, VMFS, datastore administration.
-Networking and VLAN.
-Snapshot.
-VI troubleshooting.
-Performance analysis and tuning/Optimization Operations
Review and/or Problem Resolution procedures.
