Description
Matrix is currently partnering with a local company in need of a Network Engineer for a 6 month contract.
As a Network Engineer, you will be implementing technology solutions based on the latest technologies. You must possess a true technical aptitude, an appreciation for the nuts and bolts of technology, and an interest in working within a team based environment. You will be part of a team that installs and configures network infrastructures, implementing enterprise technology infrastructures, and develop operational documentation to manage multi-vendor environments.
Key Responsibilities
Assists in deploying new branch office equipment, supporting datacenter networking initiatives and Firewall administration. As an infrastructure engineer, you'll assist with reviewing requirements, and working within existing conventions and standards, design, implement and operationally support network equipment. This position is organizationally part of an engineering team, and will need to provide support, training and documentation to Operations.
Specifically responsible for:
* Implementing and testing infrastructure changes and enhancements to the production environment.
* Proposing Designs involving improved management and configuration of Microsoft Threat Management Gateway (TMG) and Unified Access Gateway (UAG).
* Provide assistance with efforts to standardize and industrialize Microsoft technologies used by Networking team (TMG, UAG, NPS, etc), ideally leveraging Microsoft System Center.
* Creation/updating of configuration templates and or documentation for solid, repeatable builds and deployments.
* Participate in an Agile/Scrum project teams.
* Create training material and operations hand off documentation for platforms and technologies. Scope of Work. Designing and deploying branch office build outs, moves, or changes (Cisco IOS Switches, WAPs and TMG/ASA Firewalls).
* Help develop configurations and automation or central management to audit against standards.
* Level 3 support for operational issues.
Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Experience required:
* 2-5 years of Network administration/Engineer experience required.
* 2-5 years experience with some or all of the following: Microsoft Threat Management Gateway, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server, or Microsoft Unified Access Gateway required.
* 1+ year of experience with Cisco IOS based products or Cisco ASA Firewalls.
* Current Microsoft certification required.
* Experience with Microsoft System Center/Opalis a plus.
* Experience with Solarwinds NCM/Orion or Microsoft SCOM a plus.
* Undergraduate degree required, IS-related field preferred.
* CCNA a plus. Demonstrated experience in:
* Network Deployment and Support: ISA, TMG or UAG.
* Networking Deployment and Support: IP Networks, routing, Firewalls, monitoring, Secondary.
* Experience with Solarwinds Orion and NCM products is a plus.
* Role may also require experience in deployment, and support of a global enterprise IP network.
