RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Install new and rebuild existing Servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, storage, etc. in accordance with project standard and operational requirements.
  • Install and configure systems to support infrastructure and software products and services and develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards and research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Build and maintain a standard image library of all server operating systems, manage hardware life cycles and evaluate and recommend hardware products.
  • Monitor operating system performance, develop capacity planning and load management standards, document required configuration changes and perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions, perform daily backup operations ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up using the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory per request, provide tier 3 support per request from various internal and external customers. Investigate and troubleshoot issues and repair and recover from hardware or software failures and follow-up. Plus coordinate and communicate with impacted customers.
  • Working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice, may be required, responsible for supporting infrastructure and software products and services as part of emergency response team.
  • Apply Microsoft patches and upgrades on a monthly basis, upgrade administrative tools and utilities as necessary and upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure and software products and services per project or operational needs.
  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures, perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning, perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required and configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required and maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

DESCRIPTION:

  • System Administrator requires experience in provisioning, installation and configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
  • Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and to insure that the company's system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling customers and partners.
  • Will provide systems, network, operations, technical strategy and research development for each software application development project
  • Will work with the application development project team on needs definition, benefits, technical strategy, R&D within the project life cycle using SDLC Project Methodology, to define the systems, network and operational requirements for each project and resolve any system, network and operational issues from initiation and planning to defining the systems, network and operational requirements and resolving any system, network and operational issues within the project life cycle by providing technical analysis, design and supporting operations in the executing, testing and deployment of software solutions and related WEB Hosting Services.
  • Will analyze systems, network, hosting & portal requirements for each development project and implement, administer and support the operational requirements for each development project from start-up to production.
  • Systems Administration Accountability Includes: Microsoft Windows and Applications systems supporting infrastructure as well as software products and services including vendor products/technologies for Microsoft, HP, Cisco, VMWare, and EMC.
  • The System Administrator position requires a broad background for the administration of: Microsoft Servers, Active Directory (AD), Storage Area Network (SAN), Fibre Channel, advanced file server permissions delegation and rights management; Group Policy; and Scripting (VBScript); VMware, virtualization analysis, and consolidation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years system administration experience.
  • Applicants must have a high-degree of technical knowledge & experience in following list of hardware and software:
  • Microsoft Windows , Microsoft Windows clustering, Microsoft Exchange .
  • WSUS, SAN Storage, VMware and Network load balance
  • Windows Server Operating Systems (Windows Enterprise Server )
  • Active Directory administration and management (manage objects and groups) and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) administration and management
  • Windows Server - Security standards and configuration management
  • A PLUS: experience in EMC storage.
  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in a technical major or engineering or computer related field.
  • CERTIFICATION: Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Microsoft (MCSA or MCSE or MCITP).
  • MCITP Certification is preferred

  • FULL TIME SALARY: $60,000 - $80,000+ with benefits (salary based on level of experience)

  • LOCATION: Youngstown, Ohio (Located within the area of Northeast Ohio, Mahoning County, Mahoning Valley)
