Description
A large fortune 500 company, located in Houston, TX is seeking a senior Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Specialist. This is a 6 months contract-to-hire position.
This senior level specialist will oversee the development, implementation, testing and maintenance of the company DR strategy. This position will also be responsible for any disaster recovery effort.
Responsibilities:
- Perform risk assessment and related impact analysis, including establishment of RTO/RPO
- Responsible for DR implementation
- Establish DR testing methodologies
- Analyze vulnerabilities and recommend disaster avoidance and reduction strategies.
- Conducts DR training for staff members in all functional areas.
- Act as an IT coordinator during an emergency
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of current DR planning techniques and technologies
- Experience in DR related to 1) LAN/WAN networking technologies 2) Database Administration for ORacle or SQL server 3)VMware Virtualization products 4) Storage and backup 5) Host based replication technologies'
- Bachelor's Degree and 10 years or 14 years' experience in related field
- Atleast 5 years experience developing and maintaining DR programs
- DR and Business Continuity experience in a Fortune 500 highly desired
- CBCP, MBCP or equivalent is required
