My client is currently seeking a Lead Software Verification Engineer for an initial 6 month contract.

My client have a requirement for a Lead Software Verification Engineer to manage a small
team of Test Engineers on this high profile Infotainment project.

The verification team is responsible for the verification and validation of the
infotainment system requirements, which will include test specification, manual test
execution and taking an active role in the development of an automated test
environment, the generation of test scripts and the demonstration that acceptance
criteria have been met.

Key responsibilities

Technical Leadership of a small team of Test Engineers who will carry out the following (and of which the Verification Lead will be expected to contribute to):
o Development of test specifications and test cases from System Requirements
o Execution of manual and automated tests
o Review and documentation of test results
o Active role in the specification and development of an automated test environment with the supplier and in-house engineering teams.
o Development of automated test scripts
o Review and configuration control of test cases and scripts
o Reporting into Supplier fault logging system
o Formal reporting to Customer against acceptance criterion

Supplier Verification Interfacing:
o Co-ordination of Supplier feedback
o Management of issues logged - supporting Supplier Project Engineer
o Version control and overall responsibility for software deliverables received from Supplier

Customer Interfacing
o Co-ordination and support of vehicle or rig based testing at customer site or in field for verification of features/bug fixes.
o Participation in Customer project reviews
Ensuring that all team members are working to the required standards and their work meets the requirements
Ensuring that the deliverables adequately meet the required standards
Working with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to deliver to time, cost and quality
Supporting the Project Manager and Project Engineer to provide adequate metrics
and progress reports
Ensuring any test environment is fit for purpose, maintained, calibrated and
appropriately documented
Overall responsibility for all Software Verification deliverables

Required Technical Skills

A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Automotive/Infotainment industry
Strong experience in a software test and verification role - preferably with Lead Engineer experience
Experience with specifying, setting up and running an automated test environment
Experience with Bluetooth, Hands-Free Phone, AM/FM radio, Navigation, Audio

Media and Infotainment HMI features and advantage.

Ability to design effective usability trials and analyse the results (design of experiments) - statistical analysis, problem solving & root-cause analysis
Experience and understanding of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and software
Windows Embedded application experience is a distinct advantage
Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard
Organised, systematic and understand the debugging cycle/process
Required Skills Strong leadership skills - experience of leading new teams
Clear and concise communicator, both verbally and written
Experience in dealing with Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers
Fast learner - able to develop skills in new areas
Attention to detail
Highly motivated
Able to work to tight deadlines
