Description
Our client is an international technology company based north of Brussels in Belgium. They seek an English speaking DBA to work in development (production DBAs should also apply).
- Maintain the existing data catalogue physical archive
- Collect requirements for a database solution tosupport business as well as similar projects (separate needs and requirements collect, analyze and consolidate)
- Design a database architecture to fulfil therequirements using MS SQL Server and any further software as required
- Implement the database architecture and the scheduling of jobs
- Merge existing data sources with new data withclear flagging to show data source
- Build import and export interfaces to support datatransfers to from partners including weekly FTP import and version controlled export
- Interface for external customers, with correct maintenance contract, to download data and software updates
- Assisting with capacity planning, monitoring and forecasting of hardware requirements.
- Build interfaces for import and export of data
- Ensuring that issues are flagged and raised early tomaximize time available to address them.
- Extensive, in depth working knowledge of Microsoft SQLServer
- Web-based user interface design experience a strong plus
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to quickly understand complex systems and processes
- Self-starter and strong team player
- Fluent in English
