DESCRIPTION:

In the Quality Assurance and Testing Tools project, the IT Change Management consultant will be assisting in the implementation and rollout of the new Change Management v2.0 process performing (but not limited) the following tasks:

Coordinate the management of changes using the new Change Management process and tool. Review and validate for completeness all Request for Change (RfCs) received through the newly implemented Change Management tool;

Analyze and assess the risk associated with submitted changes and provide recommendations to the change manager;

Facilitate change requests through the change process and keep the change management system up to date;

Communicate with all RfCs requestors and creators on blackout dates to minimize service impacts;

Validate that all RFC's have the required documentation and elements to effectively assess risk and impact;

Support and maintain the electronic documentation for the new Change Management process including posting of current versions in the wiki page and Intranet;

Actively participate in all aspects of the transition from the CA Unicenter Service Desk tool to the new HP Service Manager (Change Module);

Assist in preparing documentation for the Change Advisory Board (CAB). This includes the generation of meeting agendas, minutes, forward schedule of changes, weekly Change Management reports, etc.;

Provide advice, support, and training to clients of the new Change Management process and other related activities. Provide advice based upon their experience in the QA field on the use of the HP Testing Tools (HP QC v10, QTP v10, Performance Centre v11);

Assist in supporting and maintaining the HP Test Tools as required;

Identify performance indicators for the new Change Management process and actively participate on all team activities relating to the projec t ;

Attend meetings as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University/Community College degree in Computer Science/Electronic Engineering or equivalent a definite asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Change Management Process consultant or coordinator.
  • ITIL v3 Foundations certification is a definite asset.
  • Similar experience in change management and other ITIL processes for large companies and/or governments.
  • Excellent working knowledge of operating systems, networks, personal computers and applications and must be comfortable communicating the relevant aspects of technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiating skills must work well with people and be flexible and adaptable to continuous change.
  • Experience in training end users on Change Management processes is a definite asset.
  • Minimum of 3years of application testing and/or QA test experience in a project based application environment.
  • Extensive QA experience on application based projects of varying sizes (small to large) and complexity (simple to complex) a definite asset.
  • Solid understanding of System Development Life Cycle and other methodologies such as RUP. Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, Project Management Methodology and IT Service Management an asset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Technical Capabilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in the field of Change Management (ITIL) and application testing.
  • Demonstrated experience in using HP Service Manager (in particular the Change Module), CA Unicenter Service Desk tool or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Change Management coordinator or consultant.
  • Experience in using HP Quality Centre v10, QTP v10 and Performance Centre v11 is an asset.
  • Strong technical writing skills are a definite asset.
