Description
My Johannesburg based Blue Chip client is urgently seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join a team on a 12 Month Contract.
The primary role will be to provide Multi-Functional IT/Technical Support to the available IT services and technologies, encompassing 1st & 2nd Level Support to all employees, Media Support, Desktop Support, application support and Corporate Device Management.
The successful candidate will have the following Skill and Experience:
* Demonstrable multifunctional IT Support experience - Desktop/Desk-side support/1st - 2nd line
* Knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows XP, 7, MAC OS, Lotus Notes and/or Microsoft Outlook, Lotus, Domino Server 4.6 and 5.0 and/or Microsoft Exchange Server
* Experience providing customer support (in person, or via e-mail/telephone)
* Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written)
* Proven track record of resolving difficult issues
* Previous experience troubleshooting hardware and software Printer, Copier and Fax, and other peripheral device knowledge required.
* Must be able to be productive while working alone or in a team environment.
* Must have excellent problem solving skills and be process oriented.
* Technical knowledge of various media technologies
* PC, Laptop hardware troubleshooting experience
* Software troubleshooting experience needed
* Working experience on Blackberry Enterprise Server and Blackberry/Mobile devices
* Excellent technical skills, strong analytical and diagnostics skills
* Technical knowledge on how Firewalls, proxies, software distribution, asset management, network infrastructures works
