Medical Purchasing Consultant

provides project equipment lists within established standards and budget. Contributes information for budget development and updates. Develops and updates budgets for project start-ups. Sets daily priorities to meet established project deadlines.

Attends design team coordination meetings during all phases of the project. Advises project management and regional personnel on the need for, acquisition and appropriate use of medical equipment for assigned major construction, renovations and expansion projects.

Establishes a communication network between the project team, facility, regional personnel and equipment manufacturers/vendors. Works with manufacturer's representatives to obtain data and costs on equipment.

Participates in drawing reviews. Works with outside architectural consultants and contractors to review drawings, identify and note design/equipment conflicts, and provide equipment specifications. Coordinates medical equipment placement on contract documents. Manage system submittals of required vendors for invorporation into project drawings.

Evaluates and recommends equipment to be purchased for new medical facilities. conducts on-site inventories of existing equipment. Evaluates equipment in place.

Ensures compliance for equipment installation and use.

Formulates project equipment recommednations. Prepares a list of equipment needs. Managers budget for medical equipment according to the cost model.

Facilitates meetings.

May assist with various projects in various service areas.
Some travel to Hospital and other clinics.
Hours of the position: 8-4:30PM, M-F
Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of medical equipment purchasing or planning in a healthcare setting. Clinical experience preferred.
Work Environment: Mostly office. some trips to the Hospital and to the clinics.
Scope of the project: Some support work for project, getting quotes, doing equipment inventory.
