Description

Our client are currently seeking an Electronics Engineer to join the team on a 6 month initial contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Determining design approaches and parameters will also be key. Analysing equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. May also review vendor capability to support product development.

Major responsibilities:

Take ownership of assigned electronics sub-systems used in Acuity product for the purpose of continuous improvements.
Maintain, update and improve the circuit designs according to VMSCE quality procedures.
Investigate any issues related to design, manufacture or field failures and propose solutions for implementation in production.
Work closely with the original design team during investigations.
Provide assistance to Manufacturing in solving technical issues when requested.
Provide assistance to Product Support Engineering (PSE) and Service on technical issues when requested.
Prepare training material and provide training to other groups (PSE/Service/Manufacturing)
Carryout and document Engineering Testing as needed according to VMSCE quality procedures.
Generate technical documentation for internal and external use.
Design, build and test prototypes.
Adhere to the VMSCE quality system and procedures.
Report activities on standard forms as required.
Provide accurate timescales and planning for activities as required.
Work closely with other Engineering team members to produce hardward/firmware solutions.
Perform other duites as assigned.

The successful candidate will have experience with: -

RoHS, REACH & WEEE compliance requirements.
OrCAD schematic capture software for circuit design.

Rate: £27 - £30 per hour
