Prestigious Fortune 500 Company, located in Houston, Texas, is currently seeking a UX Designer/Consultant. Candidate will provide user experience expertise to product design by gathering and studying information about users' behaviors, attitudes and emotions. Able to handle top-tier projects and initiatives with minimal supervision. Monitors all aspects of the user experience and makes recommendations for solutions as needed to satisfy user/business requirements. Works on a dynamic team throughout all stages of the digital product cycle. Ensures web properties comply with branding guidelines, industry standards and best practices for usability design and HCI.

Responsibilities:

Designs user experience and interactions for web properties, email communications and internal applications. Creates complex wireframes, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction, design ideas, and UX deliverables. Act as liaison with marketing stakeholders regarding branding and customer-facing aspects of the business systems, champion brand and design standards. Assists with leading solution teams to meet deadlines and goals. Conducts user research including direct methods (interviews, card sorting, focus groups, user testing) and indirect methods (data analysis, analytics, surveys) Conducts complex usability evaluation and testing. Helps define enterprise-style best practices and standards and facilitates their adoption. Creates, maintains and shares project documentation and UX guidelines. Provides leadership for new design initiatives. Analyzes data from multiple sources and synthesizes it in order to develop efficient user experiences. Develops competitive assessments. Performs site heuristic reviews and work flow analysis. Defines, requests and incorporates relevant and recent UX research and data from customer feedback to appropriately inform design decisions.
Helps define UX performance metrics (error rate, abandon rate, average number of clicks, perceived easiness, etc.) for every project to track its success.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design, Information Design, Interface design, Human-Computer Interaction or similar area of study. Five years of related experience. Four additional years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design, Information Design, Interface design, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar area of study and five or more years of experience performing user experience design work.
A graduate degree in Interaction Design, Information Design, Interface design, Human-Computer Interaction or similar area of study may substitute for work experience.
