Job Title: CAE (NVH) Engineer
Duration: Initial 6 months then becomes a rolling contract
Key Skills/Experience: NVH CAE
Role:- Primary NVH CAE engineer for the UK technical centre working on advanced architecture development & product development
- Provide NVH CAE technical support for the development of steel BIW structures and vehicle sub-systems to achieve world class vehicle NVH performance
- Plan and facilitate the NVH analysis to support the project(s), including work share with the overseas CAE team
- Support the UK team by providing insightful feedback of CAE analysis and recommendations to address structural deficiencies
- Assist the UK vehicle integration NVH specialist with the development of Client setting and NVH performance development strategy
- Perform an active role in the development of best practice techniques and processes for NVH CAE
Person:
A proven NVH CAE expert with experience of vehicle development for NVH, who is self-motivated, organised & flexible. The successful candidate will have experience of at least one full vehicle programme.
The candidate should ideally possess the following attributes:
- Be able to demonstrate experience of NVH CAE capabilities related to the development of automotive structures (or equivalent) to achieve sub-system/vehicle targets for NVH attributes
- Ability to devise commercially focused engineering proposals based on an understanding of manufacturing/assembly processes/constraints
- Should have a thorough understanding of the typical NVH issues to be addressed in steel body vehicle development and experience of the CAE methodologies to address these
- Will have a thorough understanding of the FE techniques and processes required to simulate all structural (local and global) NVH load cases and a good understanding of the limitations and confidence levels (accuracy) in these techniques
- Experience of processes relating to optimization of vehicle structures in respect of:
- Topology and topography optimisation
- Joint and section definition
- Mass optimisation
- Must have experience of the following CAE software:
- Altair HyperWorks (HyperMesh, Optistruct, HyperView etc.)
- Radioss or Nastran (or equivalent) for linear static and modal analysis
- Any experience in the following would also be beneficial: Catia V5, Teamcentre, MS Office
