The requirements for the Sun Solaris System Administrator are the following:
Essential Requirements
Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) for Solaris 10
UNIX System Administrator with solid recent & proven hands-on experience with (all equally important):
The installation, monitoring, configuration and patching (firmware) of
Sun Microsystems server hardware
Sun Microsystems and Hewlett Packard storage hardware (NAS/SAN/tape drive and tape library)
Storage technology (Fibre Channel, NFS, ZFS)
The installation, monitoring, tuning/configuring, patching, auditing and hardening/securing of the Solaris 10 operating system in a networked environment
Networking (Firewall, LAN/WAN)
Solaris 10 Backup & Disaster Recovery
Configuration management and version control
Working in large project teams
The production of quality documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, architecture drawings, network drawings) using Microsoft Office tools (Visio and others).
Desirable Requirements
Sun Certified Network Administrator (SCNA) for Solaris 10
Sun Certified Security Administrator (SCSECA) for Solaris 10
Knowledge of (on Solaris 10 where applicable):
Sun Fire Vxxx Servers, Sun SPARC Enterprise T5xxx Servers, Sun SPARC Enterprise M4000 Servers
Role Based Access, sudo, IPfilter
Oracle RDBMS 10g and higher
Veritas Netbackup 6.5, Oracle Secure backup
Subversion
HP Software (Operations Center, Network Management Center, Business Availability Center)
