The quality assurance analyst reviews and analyzes business, technical and design documents to create test plans, test cases and document defect findings. Quality Assurance Analysts must be familiar with quality assurance principles, testing techniques and procedures. Quality Assurance analysts must have good verbal and written communications skills to present findings from data analysis.

  • Strong technical skills (SQL Server)
    • Ability to write intermediate level queries to validate the business data in MS SQL Server
  • Greater than 5 years of experience (should know all levels of the SDLC)

Responsibilities:

    • Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conforms to establishment guidelines.
    • Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to ascertain quality of software.
    • Reviews new or modified program, including documentation, diagram, and flowchart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.
    • Review computer operating logs to identify program processing errors. Tests program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.
    • Identify differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggest modifications to conform to standards.
    • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
    • Follow standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
    • Develop testing scenarios that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
    • Document software defects, using a defect tracking system, and report defects to software developers in a clear and concise manner by having the ability to demonstrate how the defect occurred and exactly where the defect resides.
    • Monitor defect resolution efforts and track successes.
    • Document test procedures to ensure repeatability and compliance with standards.
    • Participate in peer reviews at all stages of the SDLC.
    • Participate in test planning/strategy reviews.
    • Complete Root Cause Analysis
