Description
My client is seeking to recruit a Senior Server Specialist on an initial 6 month contract based in Dublin.
Responsibilities:
* Providing proactive technical support for Client Server infrastructure
* Working to a high standard of service management, with an emphasis on customer service in order to exceed user expectations
* Liaising closely with the Infrastructure Engineering team during server deployment and handover into support
* Ensuring Servers are highly available and secure by proactively conducting performance analysis, monitoring, capacity planning, security enforcement and disaster recovery
* Liaising with other technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve Server related issues, providing out of hours support as necessary
* Working closely with the Server Engineering Manager to improve support capability, suggesting and implementing new processes, technologies and tools
Experience Required
* Technical expertise in Windows Servers up to 2008, Exchange Server gained in Server Support roles within enterprise level, highly available, secure environments
* Demonstrable ability in supporting SQL Server.
* Strong knowledge of server networking technologies, including Active Directory, MS ISA Server and Firewalls and SAN architectures.
* Strong knowledge of Virtualization using VMware products
* 2.1 or higher in a related discipline, or Microsoft certification ( MCSE or MCITP)
* 4+ Years experience in a similar role
