Description
Public Sector Organisation based in Glasgow seeks an experienced senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and specification of the full range of mechanical services involved in modern building services engineering across a range of education, leisure and office refurbishment projects. You will be part of a design team alongside other construction professionals including architects, engineers and surveyors on a range of multi-disciplinary projects including schools, care homes and leisure facilities; capable of producing your own CAD Drawings on Bentley Micro-station;
Essential skills and Experience
- Degree/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
- Previous experience in managing mechanical building projects from inception to completion
- Have good organisational and supervisory skills
- Have proven ability to work as part of a team
- Demonstrate competence in Bentley Micro-station CAD or equivalent
- Demonstrate a general software literacy
- Be fully conversant with mechanical legislation and standards relating to water, heating, ventilation and air conditioning services
- Demonstrate expert knowledge in the design of all building mechanical services to relevant British Standards
- familiar with Microsoft Office and an mechanical software calculation package such as Cymap, Hevacomp or IES
- Demonstrate knowledge of relevant Health and Safety Regulations
- Demonstrate knowledge of Statutory Procedures
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate good report writing skills
Desirable:
- Experience in day to day supervision of staff
- Experience in project management
- Experience with Local Government Clients
- Experience and ability to use building modelling software such as IES
- Good knowledge of Glasgow and local issues
- Good appreciation of quality Customer Service
- Current Driving Licence
