Composite Manufacturing Engineers - Bristol - Negotiable - Contract

Our client is currently looking for Composite Manufacturing Engineers for 6 month contracts based in Bristol. There are various roles available and the rates are negotiable. Candidates will need to be able to obtain BS clearance.

Preferably you will have composites experience in more than one industry sector. Especially interested in people with automotive, marine and construction sector experience.

Manufacturing

  • Experience of composites manufacturing processes
  • Experience of setting up and troubleshooting production lines and production equipment
  • An in-depth understanding of production systems - (Involved in factory planning, MRP, ERP)

Tooling

  • Experience of the design of production tools
  • Experience of the development of novel tooling approaches in a research or production environment
  • Experience of the use of software tools for tolerance control or tooling corrections etc (Delcam and Rennishaw)

Costs

  • Experience of using composite production costing tools in a production or a research environment
  • Experience of using appropriate tools to generate Non-Recurring Costs for composite product developments
  • Experience of using parametric costing tools, or of developing parametric or activity based costing tools

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification/experience
  • An established name/reputation for excellent knowledge in the Composites field and a track record of carrying out world class and innovative research and development programmes
  • An excellent level of computer literacy including project management packages and excellent report writing skills
  • Confidence with presentations and good verbal communication skills
  • A natural curiosity for practical problem solving
  • Enjoys working within a team environment and can adapt according to customer requirements
  • Highly proactive and self-motivated
  • Ability to operate under pressure and to tight timescales
